National Park Elopements

An elopement isn't less, it's more.

You can elope as just the two of you, your immediate families, a couple of close friends. It can be on the top of a mountain, or the bottom of a canyon, at the ocean, or a rustic courtyard in Europe, on a train, on a hot air balloon, on a houseboat, in the snow, at the bottom of the ocean or in a hotel made completely of ice or on the moon... wait wait, not yet, but you get the gist.

Eloping doesn't have to be hasty, or last-minute, or shameful. Instead, because you are deciding to elope, you can truly have it all. Logistics are covered, magnificent natural setting and all your time attention is focused on this moment.

An elopement is really the whole enchilada, the entirety of the day that you decide to say, I do. It's a genuine display of your love, minus the matching place settings.

planning guide

The details of your elopement day

Your elopement shouldn't give you an ulcer.  Instead, you will feel free and alive and in the present moment on your day because I will take care of ironing out all of the little details.

Be it hiking, paddling, or an intimate exchange of vows in a unique airbnb, I'm here to help you plan it. We might need permits, florals, cake (there should always be cake), or camping reservations, but you shouldn't skimp out on the details, every little detail will come together to make you feel alive and free and wildly in love.

Because you'll be opting out of inviting the entire family, these photos are even more important. It's the way that you will still be able to tell these people what they mean to you, as it will be your only way to include them.

I will be sure to capture every organic moment as it unfolds and tell your friends and family the story about the day you were married.

Terri came all the way to Denver to do our wedding, and she did an incredible job! Couldn't have been more comfortable with her taking the photos (bc sometimes posing for pictures is hella awkward, but it wasn't bad at all with her!) She was very professional and got what was needed while also being mindful of our time and need to party! The candid shots she got are some of my favorites! I couldn't have imagined better results! Thanks Terri!

FABULOUS photographer! Terri took adventure wedding photos of my husband and me at sunset at the Grand Canyon. She knew exactly where to go for the perfect lighting and amazing colors. Super efficient and adventurous, moving us around to different beautiful spots for variety, but always checking in to make sure we felt comfortable. She sent us a sneak peak so quickly and had all of our photos ready in just a few days! We'll cherish these photos forever!

Terri is absolutely wonderful to work with. She took the trouble to meet with us before our wedding and discuss the pictures we wanted, and on the day she was full of energy and created fantastic shots for us. She really went above and beyond, doing a lot more than we expected of her in terms of the time she took and all of the different ideas she had for great photos, and we appreciate the amazing results very much. Highly recommend Terri's photography!

I helped put on a Grand Canyon wedding for my friends and we hired Terri for the pics. She was amazing. Of course she got all the regular shots you would expect from a wedding but she also was able to capture much more. She got the grandparents, parents, kids, groomsmen, and bridesmaids in action. Catching people living in the moment is a gift. And Terri has it. Thanks Terri for capturing those magical moments that made the day super special. Memories forever and the pics to remind us.

I could lose myself in a southwest sunset and I try never to miss one. All we really have is this day today, I really want to live free. Free to experience a sunset over a mountain or a dramatic rainstorm off the coast. I want to stand in every moment and appreciate today for what it is, every emotion, every smell every sound, the wind, the sand and how the sun was. To stop and breathe in the desert sage or salt air and to experience and be in giddy love with the way the earth makes me feel, to frolic through it and soak in it’s magic. More than anything, I feel so grateful to have grown up in a different place and have moved here mid- life. It allows me to appreciate this outdoor life that I’ve come to love even more as I wasn’t always enveloped in it.

All we really have is this day, today, and I really want to live free.

About Terri

about terri

I moved from New Jersey to Grand Canyon National Park in 2009, before that I had no idea what adventure really was. In the last ten years, I have been an avid hiker, climber, and enjoy canyoneering. I played roller derby for some years, and tried aerial silks, acrobatics and lyra with the circus. I have a thirst for learning outdoor skills and also an affinity for the obscure and weird.  I have a houseplant and vintage camera problem and collect both, which could be an issue for the minimalist on-the-road lifestyle that I crave.
I'm looking to work with people who have a natural curiosity and want to explore the outdoors during their photo sessions. I love wilderness activities that engage my senses and connect me to other people. These are the kind of experiences I want to create for you, and photograph along the way.
